We are seeking a Scientist – Study Director in our Riccarton office to perform method development, validation and routine assays on compounds in pre-clinical and clinical studies using quantitative chromatography/mass spectrometry methods.  In Addition the successful candidate is required to act in the role of Study Director, assuming all responsibility of the regulatory requirements in performing that role.

The key responsibilities of this role are: Support internal pre-clinical (in-vitro, drug metabolism, toxicology, pharmacology and formulation analysis services) and external clinical clients, covering both regulatory and non-regulatory work.  Ensure quality standards of work and continued revenue growth of the Bioanalytical department is maintained

As Study Director, you will be responsible for the approval of the study plan, as well as documentation of modifications to the plan and ensure that all raw data is recorded. Additionally you will ensure that, on approval of the final report, the study plan, final report and all supporting raw data are transferred to the archive.

The ideal candidate will possess a degree in a chemistry related subject and it would be advantageous if the role holder has knowledge of HPLC chromatography parameters and practical hands-on experience of extraction techniques such as protein precipitation, liquid/liquid and solid phase extraction for the isolation and quantification of new chemical entities from a range of biological matrices.  Experience of MS tuning, optimisation and LC-MS/MS mass spectrometric detection techniques are also required.

You will be a good communicator and have the ability to manage and multi-task your own work load in addition to having good GLP laboratory skills in an area where high levels of attention to detail is required.
