We are seeking a Scientist in our Riccarton office to perform method development, validation and routine assays on compounds in pre-clinical and clinical studies using quantitative chromatography/mass spectrometry methods.

The key responsibilities of this role are: Supports internal pre-clinical (in-vitro, drug metabolism, toxicology, pharmacology and formulation analysis services) and external clinical c1ients, covering both regulatory and non-regulatory work.  Ensure quality standards of work and continued revenue growth of the Bioanalytical department is maintained. 

Additional responsibilities include providing Bioanalytical support for pre-clinical and clinical studies by developing and validating methods and performing assays to provide analysis results for approval, maximizing expertise in the general procedures and extraction and chromatography techniques routinely used for plasma analysis and providing expertise in standard preparation, sample analysis and data manipulation consistent with GLP and other relevant regulatory standards ensuring compliance with GLP.

The ideal candidate will possess a degree in a chemistry related subject and it would be advantageous if the role holder has knowledge of HPLC chromatography parameters and practical hands-on experience of extraction techniques such as protein precipitation, liquid/liquid and soli d phase extraction for the isolation and quantification of new chemical entities from a range of biological matrices.

You will be a good communicator and have the organizational ability to manage and multi-task your own and have good GLP laboratory skills in an area where high levels of attention to detail is required
